Hi folks,
The rush is on! We’ve had our biggest numbers of the season so far the last
couple of days: 3,919 on Tuesday and 13,761 on Wednesday, 12,560 of which
were Broad-winged Hawks. These are still mostly immatures; the big push of
adult broadies is yet to come.
The newest on the spectacular passerine migration, the raptor flight
forecast, and other news about Hawk Ridge is located on our website:
www.hawkridge.org; scroll down and click on "Hawk Ridge News".
And it's STILL not too late to register for Hawk Weekend, September
23-25--send it soon, or wait and register at the door. Speakers include Dr.
Mark Fuller, raptor researcher from Idaho, and Al Batt, writer, birder, and
humorist. Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory’s second Annual Member Meeting will
take place prior to the Saturday evening program, and we’re raking in some
wonderful items for our silent auction fundraiser. See our website for
registration information and more details on the event.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments! You can also call
us directly at the Ridge to find out what's happening: 218.428.6209.
Happy hawkwatching,
Debbie
