This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, September 15th.

On the 12th, Barb and Denny Martin discovered a BLACK SCOTER at Five  
Mile Rock, northeast of Grand Marais in Cook County.

A WHIMBREL was found by Steve and Jo Blanich at the Ironton sewage  
ponds in Crow Wing County on the 13th.

Two PARASITIC JAEGERS and a possible LONG-TAILED JAEGER were found by  
Mike Hendrickson and Tom Auer on September 9th in Duluth on Park  
Point near the Sky Harbor Airport.  Unusual were the three juvenile  
SABINE'S GULLS reported here on the 8th by Bill Litkey.

A CAROLINA WREN continues to be seen along the perimeter trail in the  
southeast corner of Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield, Hennepin  
County. It was seen here as recently as the 14th by Scott Meyer.

On the 10th, a BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER was at the Izaak Walton  
Wetlands in Olmsted County near the sign for the Hardwood Forest, and  
another was at Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield, Hennepin County  
on the 13th.

Finally, a few migrant sparrows have begun to show up in some of the  
northern counties, including HARRIS'S SPARROW, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW,  
and LAPLAND LONGSPUR.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, September 22nd.
