The Double-crested Cormorant in North America: Facts, Fiction, and =
Biopolitics

Dr. Francesca Cuthbert will review the status of Double-crested =
Cormorants in North America.  She will also discuss the current =
controversy regarding recent increases in cormorant numbers and =
perceived impacts of this species on fish, vegetation, and other =
co-nesting waterbirds in the Great Lakes region.

The Minnesota River Valley Adubon Chapter (MRVAC) will have its meeting =
on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at the Minnesota Valley National =
Wildlife Refuge Visitor's Center 3815 American Blvd E, Bloomington, just =
south of the airport. Take the 38th Street exit. The public is welcome. =
We encourage you to come for the social period with coffee, cookies and =
committee exhibits beginning at 7:00 p.m., followed by a brief business =
meeting and the featured speaker at 7:30 p.m. The meeting concludes at =
9:00 p.m.
