Chaska Lake's water levels have risen dramatically since the recent rains. There
are very few exposed mudlfats present, thus the water nearly reaches the cattail
edge. Today there were around 100 shorebirds present, but 90% of them were
Lesser Yellowlegs, which is to be expected with the higher water levels. Other
species present were Greater Yellowlegs, Killdeer, and Baird's Sandpiper. I
will update again when the lake becomes more favorable for shorebirds.
