The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation (385 to 4)=20
that will make it easier for waterfowl hunters to purchase a Federal=20
Duck Stamp. The Senate passed the bill earlier. It now goes to=20
President Bush to sign into law.

The bill approves a pilot program beginning Sept. 1, 2007, in 15 states=20=

that are yet to be determined allowing waterfowl hunters, stamp=20
collectors and conservationists nationwide to buy the Federal Duck=20
Stamp electronically over the phone or Internet. A conventional paper=20
stamp will also remain available at retail outlets.

Waterfowl hunters have contributed well over $600 million to habitat=20
conservation during the past 71 years with their purchases of Federal=20
Duck Stamps.=A0 The ability to buy an electronic Duck Stamp should make=20=

it easier to acquire a Duck Stamp, and that will be a positive step for=20=

wetland conservation.

Paper stamps will be sent to those people who buy via the Internet.
