I traveled on a boat yesterday (8-26) and went near a sandbar by the =
Great Blue Heron rookery (right outside of Pig's Eye), where 200+ =
American White Pelicans were present (either roosting or flying in.) I =
also saw a flock of 30+ pelicans heading in that direction this morning. =
Other species seen on the river:=20
@ Belted Kingfisher (3)
@ Bald Eagle (2, and one we could get surprisingly close to)=20
@ Spotted Sandpipers (2)
@ Forester's Terns (2)=20
@ C. Nighthawks (20+)
@ Two domestic geese with a flock of Canada geese.
To those that do not have access to a boat, there is a trail where =
you can view the pelicans (this is part of a reserve, I do not know the =
name of it.) Good birding~
