Birding Today with Ron & Tim Kolde from Cincinnati, Ohio.

-Black-backed Woodpecker (male and female) in Sax Zim Bog along McDavitt =
Rd. From the Sax Road go 2.5 miles north on the McDavitt Rd. Walk the =
logging road on the east side and follow it till you see another logging =
road on your right. Walk down this road and listen for tapping. All =
along this side road you can see a lot of signs of woodpeckers feeding =
on the spruce bug worms.

-Northern Hawk Owl in Aitkin County. We relocated the owl that Warren =
Nelson found in the township of Kimberly. We also saw the Hawk Owl near =
the Stone Lake Rd in Sax Zim Bog but the owl was just north of the =
intersection of Co. Rd 7 and Stone Lake Rd way off on top of a tamarack =
tree on the west side of 7.

Other:
Gray Jays, Northern Shrike, Northern Goshawk, Pine Grosbeak, and Common =
Redpolls
