I'm sure a lot of you are aware of the Bald Eagle activity at Colville Park
in Red Wing. However, for those that aren't - it's worth a trip there. I
counted 47 Bald Eagles just in one area of the park yesterday and they are
VERY active. They put on beautiful aerial displays, caught fish from the
river, and there's even two that sit in a tree there that you can get right
up to as they don't mind at all. I observed them in that same tree on
Wednesday, Friday, and yesterday. The tree is very soon after you'd park
your car at the end of the lot closest to the river itself (not the alcove
area with the bluff and Excel Energy behind it). Just get out of your car
and walk the blacktopped sidewalk heading away from that alcoved area and
you'll see them soon enough (on your side of the river).

I also went to Old Frontenac and Reid's Landing on Wednesday. Not much
activity at Old Frontenac but there was at Reid's Landing.

And, I observed two matured Bald Eagles along the Cannon River in Cannon
Falls Saturday around 5PM. I was actually trying to relocate the Snowy Owls
reported earlier on County Roads 1 and 57 and mile marker 85 in Hwy 52. I
did not see any Snowy Owl. Does anyone know if they are still around?
