Stand Up and Make Sure Your Birds are Counted!
This weekend is not just Presidents' Day Weekend; it is also the Ninth =
Annual Great Backyard Bird Count. Everyone is invited and encouraged to =
make sure that the birds in their neighborhood are included in the =
tally. The count lasts four days, beginning today Friday 17th February, =
and it's very simple. Whether you watch your feeders, or go for a full =
day's hike, all you need to do is report, online, the greatest number of =
individuals of each species you see together at one time. You can do one =
count or several. Full details, checklists, and more information can be =
found at www.birdsource.org/gbbc <http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc>. =
Audubon's IS team has put together a great way for participants to send =
in their photographs. Check it out!=20
Tell your friends and neighbors, too. You're already a birder, this is a =
great opportunity to introduce your favorite birding place to someone =
new to birding. Or with this cold snap watching cardinals at the feeder =
from the comfort of your living room, that's great too! Just be sure to =
take part in the Great Backyard Bird Count this weekend!
