Birding today on Day 3 of my guiding trip with Mitchell & Kristin Harris =
of Titusville, Florida. We birded today in Aitkin Co., Two Harbors and =
the Duluth Harbor.
-Sharp-tailed Grouse (Aitkin Co) 2 males displaying on a snow cover =
field on Co. Rd 16 south of Hwy. 210
4 Sharp-tailed Grouse along Kestrel Avenue. These grouse have been =
coming to a feeder along Kestrel Ave.
-Brown Creeper in Two Harbors
- Four Greater Scaup in the Duluth shipping Canal in Canal Park.
- 4 Glaucous Gulls on the Duluth side pier in Canal Park. ( 3=3D2nd =
winters and 1=3D1st winter)
-Gadwall mixed in with a large group of Mallards behind the Canal Park =
Inn Hotel or at the elbow of Lake Superior below Fitgur's parking ramp.
** I saw a lot of postings on Bird Forum and on some blogs that a birder =
who has been searching the Pearl River in Louisiana by kayak has located =
at least 2 Ivory-billed Woodpeckers. You can read more about him and =
his search on his website Fishcrow.com. By reading his journal on his =
website and also his postings on Bird Forum I feel confident that this =
birder is very close in getting the hardcore evidence needed to prove =
once and for all that the Ivory-billed are still surviving.=20
If you never been to Bird Forum you can go there with this address. =
http://www.birdforum.net/ you need to register and then you can enter =

locate this forum. Click on this forum Updates on the Ivory-billed =
