140th Street Marsh is about one mile east of Hwy 52. But 140th Street no
longer connects to Hwy 52 on that side, so you have to continue south to
CR42, turn east and then north on Conley to reach 140th Street.

180th Street Marsh is about three miles east of Hwy 52.

West end of Lake Byllesby. Take Hwy 56 south from Hwy 52 and Hampton,
following the signs to Randolf. When you get to the sign at CR88 telling
you to turn west (right) to Randolf, turn east (left). Go to the first
driveway to the south, park (don't block the railroad), and walk through the
gate that tells you are entering a Dakota Co. Park. For confirmation, there
is an orange hazard fence surrounding a septic field. Follow the trail
down. If you found the pelicans, you probably found the spot. there are
more places to view the mudflats & sandbars on trails leading further to the
west. Half of the next field to the west is still park land.

Jirik sod farm is at CR79 (Blaine Ave) and CR66, east of Hwy 3 and west of
Hwy 52. Other Empire sod farms are west and south of the Jirik farm, but
they are not as interesting.

Castle Rock sod farms are further south on Hwy 3 at CR88.

The Empire substation, south and east of the Jirik farm, can be a good spot
for praire birds.
