Hello all,
I heard two wood thrushes singing near Lake George in Hubbard County
today. They were heard from the Halverson Forest Road about 1/2 mile east
of its junction with CR 4, about 2 miles south of Lake George. One thrush
nearby on the north side of the road, and the other was more distant to
the south. Beautiful flutey voices, ending in EE-o LAY!!! Also, several
veery heard along the road.
Good warblers in Itasca State Park, mainly resident species. Highlights
were a male Blackburnian at the Douglas Lodge, northern parula, pine
warbler, and golden-winged warbler. 16 warbler species in all today.
Good Birding!
