I birded at Wood Lake in Richfield this morning. Birds seen include:
@ Warbling Vireos (abundant)
@ Red-eyed Vireos
@ Yellow Warblers (abundant)
@ Beautiful pair of E. Bluebirds=20
@ G-C Flycatchers (heard)
@ E. Wood-Pewee (heard)
@ Pair of Pied-Billed Grebes (their nest is in the middle of the main =
pond)
@ Am. Coot
@ A fairly large flock of Cedar Waxwings (that kept diving into the =
cattails for some reason...?)
Two questions: I also heard a ringing, musical, liquid gurgling within =
the cattails. The birds never showed themselves, but I don't know what =
they are. Does anyone else know? And I also have had B-W Hawks near my =
house for a month...how long will they stay in an area for? Good birding =
to all!
