Driving around just outside the Twin Cities, I have been struck by how
birdless it appears. I am seeing very few birds besides trash birds
(pigeons, starlings, house sparrows), crows, and an occasional Red-tailed
Hawk, often seen paired up. I did find a Kestrel today on Hwy 55 near just
west of Hamel.

We have a Northern Flicker that has been coming to our feeders in Eagan
occassionally in the morning.

Lastly, I found a gray-morph Gyrfalcon in my travels this weekend. It was
pretty exciting, but I was asleep at the time, so I did not note the
location. but, I am not about to start a list of birds I remember from my
dreams.
