The day started out damp/foggy and misty but warm! Around 1:00pm or so =
the fog lifted and out came the sun! Raptors seeing this opportunity =
were migrating in very good numbers over my house. In one hour I =
counted the following raptors:
-30 Red-tailed Hawks
-5 Rough-legged Hawks
-10 Sharp-shinned Hawks
-2 Turkey Vultures
-35 Bald Eagles

Other then raptors I had the following land in my yard when the fog =
lifted:
-15 White-winged Crossbills
-10 Bohemian Waxwings

This evening while playing hoops with my kids I heard some commotion =
from some Red-breasted Nuthatches and there right in plain view was a =
Long-eared Owl roosting in one of our spruce trees. I took several =
photos of it and then my Ben & Beccas were able to see it through the =
scope as were some neighbors who were wondering what we were looking at. =
I also found a fresh pellet that I saved!
