This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, March 6th 2008.

A male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was still on the Mississippi River at Reads
Landing in Wabasha County on the 1st. And a male HARLEQUIN DUCK was
still on the river near the railroad bridge at U.S. Highway 10 in
Washington County.

Two SNOWY OWLS were reported recently from Polk County. From U.S.
Highway 2 go three and a half miles west of state highway 32 to the
small Gravel company building, then turn south. You can follow the road
to county road 45. I have no information as to how far down this road
the birds were seen.

In Anoka County, a BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen again on March 2nd
at Bunker Hills Regional Park near Andover. The bird was seen in the
trees along the east side of "A" road about a quarter of a mile north of
the Bunker Beach water park.

The TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE that has been behind the Science Museum of
Minnesota in St. Paul was still present on the 3rd.

Migrants reported in the past week include GREAT BLUE HERON, KILLDEER,
HORNED LARK, EASTERN BLUEBIRD, and HARRIS'S SPARROW.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, March 13th 2008.
