Four SNOWY OWLS were reported in Becker County this week. Three birds remain at the north end of Hamden Slough NWR. All are most reliably seen mid to late afternoon within 2 miles of the junction of Becker CRs 13 and 14. A third bird was found on the 25th near the southwest corner of Lake Sallie, which is about 5 miles southwest of the city of Detroit Lakes.

The VARIED THRUSH has been seen daily over the past week at the Hartness residence along Becker CR 29 on the east side of Cotton Lake.

Shelley Steva, Zeann Linder and Jeanie Joppru birded in NW MN on the 19th and in Kittson County found ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, COMMON REDPOLL and LAPLAND LONGSPUR. In Roseau County along Hwy. 310, they found four NORTHERN HAWK OWLS between mileposts 7, 8, and 9.

Birds reported from Lake Bronson State Park in Kittson Co. this week were GRAY PARTRIDGE, SHARP-TAILED GROUSE and PINE GROSBEAK.

A NORTHERN GOSHAWK has been at the Tamarac NWR in Becker County for the past month, seen weekly within 2 miles of the refuge visitor center.

Other birds reported this week were BALD EAGLE, BARRED OWL, NORTHERN SHRIKE, BOHEMIAN WAXWING, CEDAR WAXWING, NORTHERN CARDINAL, SNOW BUNTING, WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL and EVENING GROSBEAK.
