Most of the migrants have left the northwest now leaving only the waterfowl to move through. A few late migrants are still being seen, but numbers are greatly reduced. Weather has been cool during the past few days, and tonight there were a few snowflakes.
Gary Tischer observed 8 WESTERN GREBES on Detroit Lake in Becker County on October 20. At Tamarac NWR, Bruce Flaig found more than 100 TRUMPETER SWANS on October 22.
At Agassiz NWR in Marshall County, Gregg Knutsen saw a pair of TUNDRA SWANS with two cygnets late last week. Several BALD EAGLES are being seen on the refuge and DARK-EYED JUNCOS are visiting the office feeders.
From Roseau County, Beth Siverhus reported a GREATER YELLOWLEGS in Warroad on October 24.
