We have had a really mild week throughout the state , and all the snow we previously received is gone. Weather forecasters are promising colder weather next week, but there is so far no mention of much snow. Birding has been somewhat uneventful this week except for the snowy owls being reported from the Red River Valley.

A CAROLINA WREN is still being reported a the Fig Lake Farm in Becker County as of November 26.

I also have a secondhand report of an EVENING GROSBEAK at Maple Lake. Shelley Steva and I found 20 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS in Polk County on November 25, most of which were in or near Glacial Ridge NWR. We also saw about 500 SNOW BUNTINGS near the beet piles along CR 20 south of Sherack. A MERLIN was seen in our travels through the county.
