This is the Duluth Birding Report for Thursday, August 6th, 2009 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.
Nine BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were seen on the 2nd by Jan and Larry Kraemer at the 40th Avenue West Erie Pier area. Other species seen included WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS, PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, and a BONAPARTE'S GULL. They added SEMIPALMATED PLOVER and BAIRD’S SANDPIPER on the 3rd.
