This is the Duluth Birding Report for July 14th, 2011 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.
A RED-THROATED LOON was seen on the 3rd by Scott Wolff near 40th Street on Park Point in Duluth.
Fall shorebird migration is underway, with sightings of SOLITARY SANDPIPER, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, and STILT SANDPIPER in Duluth and along the North Shore during the past few weeks.
The next scheduled update of this report will be in two weeks on Thursday, July 28th.
