This is the Duluth Birding Report for December 1st, 2012 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.
A BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was seen on the 28th by Larry and Jan Kraemer at Canal Park in Duluth. Two GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS, THAYER'S GULLS, and GLAUCOUS GULLS are also being seen at Canal Park. Alex Cruz saw a BLACK SCOTER and three WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS on the 25th in the harbor at Park Point near the Sky Harbor Airport.
Shawn Conrad saw a VARIED THRUSH on the 29th in LaPrairie near Grand Rapids. Ben Harste saw a late HERMIT THRUSH on the 27th at Gooseberry State Park. Don Kienholz saw a possible Hermit Thrush on the 26th at Bayfront Park in the Duluth Harbor.
