This is the Duluth Birding Report for March 26th, 2016 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was found by Frank Nicoletti on the 21st at the corner of Skyline Drive and 24th Avenue West. Frank also saw 140 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on the 21st along Skyline Drive at Thompson Hill. Kristin Grover saw 25 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on the 20th along the Fiskett Road in Rice Lake Township and a flock of 18 was seen on the 25th in Duluth Township along the West Knife River Road near the Olson Road.

Steve Kolbe saw three GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE on the 19th in Superior at Connor's Point and they were seen through the 21st. GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS, ICELAND GULLS, THAYER’S GULLS, and GLAUCOUS GULLS have been reported in the past week from Wisconsin Point and Allouez Bay

Both GYRFALCONS continue to be seen as recently as the 24th near the Peavey elevator at Connor's Point off US Highway 53 and along Winter Street in Superior. Kim Eckert also saw both birds in the Duluth Port Terminal on the 21st.

Recent new arrivals in the area include SANDHILL CRANE, EASTERN BLUEBIRD, and SONG SPARROW on the 21st, COMMON LOON on the 22nd, and AMERICAN KESTREL on the 25th
