This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, June 21st sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A WHITE-FACED IBIS is being seen about 20 miles east of Austin, Mower County. It can be found between mile marker 199 and 200 on the south side of I-90 in a small wetland.

A WHITE-EYED VIREO has been at Rice Lake State Park is Steele County for several days and was still present on June 16th. I have word, however, that park officials are concerned about the many birders in the area. Please use common sense when visiting and try to keep disturbances to a minimum.

YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS are nesting at Acacia Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Dakota County. From the intersection of Pilot Knob and state highway 13, go about 1/4 mile north on Pilot Knob. Turn left and drive through the gate. Turn right and follow the road around the building and park near the flag pole. Please use common sense when looking for these birds. They are easy to see and very cooperative.

A LITTLE BLUE HERON was spotted near Lake City, at a small park north of town close to the Goodhue-Wabasha county line, but no further details were given by the caller.

Al Batt reported five CATTLE EGRETS on June 18th on Steele County road 45 between the towns of Owatonna and Ellendale

On Sunday, June 17th, Jim Lind found a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD behind the Holiday Station in Tofte, Cook County,

The EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE in Caledonia, Houston County, is apparently still very easy to find. Check the small city park on the corner of East Lincoln and North Marshall Streets. Look especially near the gazebo or the playground.

And Paul Pedersen reported that the KENTUCKY WARBLER was still at the Nelson Fen WMA in southwest Olmsted County on the 17th, along with a BELL'S VIREO. And the pair of GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES are still near the the East County Road 9 Marsh in eastern Olmsted County. Both grackles were seen in a cow pasture north of the marsh.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday June 28th.
