This is the Minnesota Birding Report for December 15th, 2011.
In Duluth, an adult male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was seen at Canal Park on the 11th, and this is likely the same bird first found back on November 19th. A BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was also at Canal Park on December 13th.
On the 10th, two WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and a LONG-TAILED DUCK were at Point Douglas Park in Washington County. Another LONG-TAILED DUCK is being seen on the west side of Lake Harriet in Minneapolis along with a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL.
On December 13th, there was a late ROSS'S GOOSE at Sleepy Eye Lake in Brown County.
Over the weekend, a CAROLINA WREN stopped by the feeders at the visitor center at Wild River State Park in Chisago County and it was still being seen as recently as the 13th. The park is north of Taylors Falls on the St. Croix River.
That TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE which has been at Carpenter Nature Center in Washington County since November 27th was seen again on December 9th.
