This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Wednesday June 5th, 2013.
A BROWN PELICAN was found at Myre-Big Island State Park in Freeborn County on May 31st, but it was not reported to me and I have no specific information about its location or if it is still present.
A SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was discovered by Tim Pearson on the 2nd at the mouth of the Brule River near Naniboujou Lodge in Cook County, and the bird was seen again on the 5th. A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was also in the area.
A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER is still at Whitewater State Park in Winona County at the picnic area near the Nature Store.
A male LARK BUNTING was reported from the north side of Thief Lake in Roseau County on the 28th. It was along Thief Lake Drive about two miles east of 240th Avenue.
On the 29th, a LITTLE BLUE HERON was in Rice County at the Carleton College Cowling Arboretum in Northfield.
In Duluth, Tom Auer found a PIPING PLOVER on the 1st at Park Point between the Recreation Area and the Sky Harbor Airport.
Dave Sovereign reported two TUFTED TITMICE on the 3rd along the Big Sucker River in eastern St. Louis County. The birds were along a trail between highway 61 and Lake Superior.
On the 30th, a KENTUCKY WARBLER was found by Thomas Malone at Springbrook Nature Center in Anoka County.
