A large variety of shorebirds was found on September 2nd and September 3rd by Craig Mandel along state highway 7 at the McLeod County Hennepin County line. Among them were AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, SPOTTED SANDPIPER, STILT SANDPIPER, SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, LEAST SANDPIPER and PECTORAL SANDPIPER. In Carver County he reports finding BAIRD'S SANDPIPER and BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER in a flooded field along county road 32 near Tacoma Ave. A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was also seen in Renville County.

RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH are still being reported in higher than usual numbers and I have reports from the counties of Ramsey, Hennepin, and Freeborn.

On August 30th Bill Litkey found a somewhat out of range and rather late BELL'S VIREO on the west side of Lac Qui Parle Lake in Lac Qui Parle County. The approximate location was along county road 33 about two miles north of county road 48. The vireo was still in the area the following day as reported by Ray Glassel.

Finally, in Kanabec County, Craig Menze reports that sixteen species of warblers were recorded on September 3rd, including WILSON'S WARBLER, BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, BLACKPOLL WARBLER, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, ORANGE- CROWNED WARBLER, TENNESSEE WARBLER, and GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER.
