In Roseau County, Beth Siverhus and Gretchen Mehmel reported a SNOWY OWL along Hwy. 89 just south of the town of Roseau. The bird was seen on March 8th and again on the 10th. Four NORTHERN HAWK OWLS were present in the Roseau Bog on March 10th. Go north on Hwy. 310 from the town of Roseau, then east along the ditch from mile post 9. A male BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was also present in this area.

>From the Lake Bronson State Park and vicinity in Kittson County, birds reported by Gladwin Lynne on March 12th included ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, MERLIN, BOHEMIAN WAXWING, HORNED LARK and COMMON REDPOLL.

On March 10th, at Thief River Falls in Pennington County, Shelley Steva found a MERLIN had returned and was harassing rock doves by the grain elevators.

At the Tamarac NWR in Becker County this past week, birds reported included a large number of TRUMPETER SWANS, MALLARD, BALD EAGLES at nest sites, RED-TAILED HAWK, RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER, COMMON RAVEN, BROWN CREEPER, AMERICAN GOLDFINCH and COMMON REDPOLL.
