On the 12th of October Jon Little discovered a raft of ten WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS at Burlington Bay in Two Harbors, Cook County. A few SNOW BUNTINGS were seen a bit farther up the shore of Lake Superior the same day.

Hap Huber reported a late Black-bellied Plover on October 11th in Grand Marais in Cook County. At the New Germany mudflats along Carver County Road 30, that possible CURLEW SANDPIPER was reportedly seen by two observers on the 10th, and again on the 13th, but again no one was able to find it on subsequent days. Paul Budde reported a WILSON'S PHALAROPE from here on the 15th. Several species of sparrows were also in the area including LE CONTE'S SPARROW, CHIPPING SPARROW, SAVANNAH SPARROW, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, HARRIS' SPARROW and DARK-EYED JUNCO. Most of these species plus a few FOX SPARROWS have been reported from numerous other locations in Minnesota as well.

A THAYER'S GULL was on Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis on the 10th.

Chet Meyers reported a flock of RUSTY BLACKBIRDS was at Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis on both the 14th and the 16th.
