John Hockema and Chris Hockema met me at Old Chicago Pizza and surprised =
me by having along Ben Fritchman and Josh Watson along to eat dinner =
with. After pizza they then raided my home, played on my Nentendo game =
cube game, and slept on the living room floor. ( wife and kids were out =
of town) We got up and birded Sax Zim bog, areas feeders and Two =
Harbors.

Highlights:=20

Sharp-tail Grouse: sitting on a frozen lek along Co. Rd. 29 on east side =
of the road about 2 miles or so north of Co. Rd. 133. This is a =
established lek and very quite reliable to view these grouse in the =
spring. I was surprised to see them sitting on the same spot doing =
nothing but looking at each other.

Boreal Chickadees: Saw two birds in different places along Owl Avenue or =
Co. Rd. 208.

Glaucous Gulls are still at Two Harbors in Agate Bay and I missed out on =
the Harlequin Ducks at both spots mentioned in previous posts.

All the winter finches and residents were found in pretty good numbers!

Side News:

I think Chris Hockema is at 70 - 73 species and closing fast on the =
record to get 100 by Jan. 10th. I have no doubt that he'll have 100 by =
1/9 as there are plenty of stakeouts and puddle ducks around.=20
