Returned from a weekend birding trip and wanted to update the information on
the Northern Mockingbird that is being seen in Grand Marais.
@ Northern Mockingbird - observed on 1/9/04, Cook County, Grand Marais. The
bird was observed at the intersection of W. 3rd. Ave. & 4th St. We initially
observed the bird sitting on a wooden bird feeder in front of the house on the
NW corner of the intersection and later the bird was observed feeding on
berries in some bush's in the NE corner of the intersection. The bird was
observed in this location from 1:45 to about 2:10pm
@ Black-backed Woodpecker - Cook County, Grand Marais, city campground. A
female Black-backed Woodpecker responded to a tape. The bird was observed near
the gate at the far East end of the campground.
