Shawn Conrad and I used the DNR Palo Sharp-tailed Grouse blind this =
morning.
We saw 6 or 8 Sharp-tails but they were pretty far away and mostly =
stayed
behind some vegetation so we didn't have very good looks at the dancing. =
We
were, however, serenaded by several Grasshopper Sparrows right near the
blind.
=20
We then went to Sax Zim to see what we could find. The highlight there =
was
a very cooperative Great Gray Owl. It was sitting on a short stump =
about 30
feet away from the road. We were on Owl Avenue about 100 yards from the
south end of it. This was at about 9:00 AM.
