Good day to all,
I would just like to say that the Spotted Towhee that I reported on 5/4 =
was likely incorrectly identified by myself.
I learned recently, from a diligent (and better) birder who spent a =
considerable amount of time
relocating the towhee, that he saw an Eastern Towhee with considerable
streaking on the back but none on the wings. I was unaware of such =
Eastern
Towhees, so I believe I may have incorrectly assumed that the bird I saw =
was
a Spotted Towhee.
I wish I could be more conclusive but my memory of the bird is not good
enough to say for sure.
I must say, I have relearned a few good lessons here!
My apologies to those who I may have sent chasing a spotted Eastern =
Towhee.
I will try to make some more worthy sightings from here
on!
