On the Olmsted County big day today which was organized by Bob Ekblad we =
found a White Winged Dove. It was a state bird for almost all of us. The =
participants were Bob Ekblad, Jerry Pruett, John Hockema, Chuck Krulas, =
and I. John found a White Winged Dove in Cook County last year so this =
is his second state WW Dove. The Minnesota Checklist says that there are =
only 3 state records of this bird. However, I don't think John's bird =
from last year is included and also the Ely WW Dove that is presently =
being seen there isn't included. So this is the 6th state record if =
accepted and the first for Olmsted County.=20
I was able to take 4 quick photo's through my scope before it flew. I =
have posted one of the pictures on my WEB page =
www.geocities.com/jjeffstephenson . The last time I posted a picture the =
WEB service provider disabled my page because there were too many hits =
in a one hour period. So if you aren't able to view the picture the =
first time you try then try again later.=20
