Yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, May 26th) at 12:10 p.m. Bob Schroeder and I
found a pair of Black-necked Stilts at Rice Lake (East of Winnebago, MN) in
Faribault County. The birds where out on the point on the east side of the
lake near the group of short wooden posts (probably the remains of a former
duck blind). We initially saw the birds from the dock on the south side of
the lake using a spotting scope. Later we observed the pair of birds from
the west side of the lake directly across from the east point. The birds
were still present we left shortly after 1:00 p.m.
