I have some recent second hand reports of owls in the Meadowlands & Floodwood area.

A Hawk-owl was well described by a hunter hunting north west of Meadowlands, about a mile or two from town.

A "recent" Great-gray Owl was in the yard for a day or two on Hwy 29 about a half mile east of Hwy 73 north of Floodwood.
this bird was seen at a distance of about 20 feet. It was successfully hunting. It was also heard calling later that
night.

Another hunter from Floodwood reported seeing several "small" owls. The report is third hand, and not specific as to
locations or day.

I also have a report of Golden Eagle at a deer carcass near Floodwood. Although the reporter was familiar with immature
Bald Eagles, his description was not very convincing. The bird was described as all dark, but larger than the Bald Eagles
feeding there.
