While hiking along Spirit Lake near the old steel plant in Morgan Park =
this afternoon (Saturday) I encountered a flock of about 75 American =
Robins. These were the first I've seen this year. There's still about =
a foot of snow on the ground, but some of the exposed southern slopes =
are slightly exposed. =20
I also forgot to post last Sunday that, while riding back from Amery, Wi =
with a friend , we saw 24 Great Gray Owls along Wisconsin Hwy. 35. The =
greatest number (18) were between Danbury and Dairyland, and along one =
stretch they were spaced pretty evenly about =BD mile apart. There were =
6 more between Dairyland and the outskirts of Superior.=20
