This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Sunday, September 22nd.

As mentioned on last Sunday's update of this report, Tom Auer found
as many as 70 SABINE'S GULLS over Lake Superior in Duluth on the
16th, at 31st Street of Park Point, and two days later Mike
Hendrickson discovered a juvenile LONG-TAILED JAEGER on the Minnesota
side of Wisconsin Point. Mike also found an ARCTIC TERN in the area.
The jaeger was breifly relocated on the 19th, as were a SURF SCOTER,
two PACIFIC LOONS, four RED-THROATED LOONS, three PARASITIC JAEGERS,
and a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. Chet Myers found a Pacific Loon at
Park Point on the 21st, and as many as four RED-THROATED LOONS were
seen on Lake Superior on the 21st.

On September 17th, Kim Eckert found an immature FERRUGINOUS HAWK in
western Yellow Medicine County and a juvenile Sabine's Gull at Salt
Lake in Lac Qui Parle County. The Ferruginous Hawk was seen over
Yellow Medicine County Road 15 just south of state highway 68.

The only other new migrants reported over the past week were FOX
SPARROWS, especially in the area of Sherburne National Wildlife
Refuge in Sherburne County.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, September 29th.
