Last Friday eve 4/5: Birded McDougall'sFarm NatureConservancy Plot (w =
Royalton,MN)- out in the prairie (Western Meadowlarks and Savannah =
Sparrows(would like to watch this locale for other sparrows); along the =
bluff line, a 100 WTSparrows foraging like minature chickensi n the =
underbrush, and then feeding up high on oak leaf sprouts/flowers for =
their salad (I hadn't observed this feeding habit in them before). Only =
a few YR warblers, Broad-winged Hawk, Turkey Vultures,..
North (Slossenburg) Unit of CharlesLindburghSP: Many YRwarblers, Palm =
Warblers, 26 other species.
Sunday eve 4/7 WaitePark/Pleasant Lake: 30+flock of Lesser Yellowlegs, =
Yellow-Headed Blackbirds (3) at the Eside Pleasant Lake location, =
Cooper's Hawk. Of note in this time frame- arrivals to my yard of House =
Wrens, an Oriole,... BlueWingedTeal in every spot, Veery in Quarry Park, =
Chimney Swfits, Barn Swallows, and a quick look at the winged pattern of =
a descending Willet, but I couldn't double back on the 70mph interstate =
with two semis flanking me (locale at the w bound entrance from Hwy 15 =
on to I94). mjb
