I birded on the trail near my house today. Species seen include:
Indigo Bunting (1, beautiful male) feeding on trail
Clay-colored Sparrow (1) feeding with a Chipping Sparrow on trail
White-throated Sparrows (3) feeding on trail
Gray Catbirds (3) feeding on trail
Least Flycatcher (1) perching on bushes near water
B-C Night Herons (2, adult and juvenile). The adult caught a catfish =
while the juvenile was sleeping on a near branch over the water.
Great Blue Heron (pair) Very noisy!
Green Heron (1) that wanted to join in the chorus!=20
Baltimore Orioles have been back for a couple of days. No warblers or =
migrating thrushes, alas. Oh well. Good birding!
