I photographed a Green Heron at Lake Rebecca in Hastings today (Dakota
County). That's the first time I had seen a Green Heron there. I also was
able to photograph and watch a Double-crested Cormorant swim at the 140th
Street Marsh (also Dakota County) today. There have been one or two
Cormorants perched on a tree stump there during the day hours for a good two
to three weeks now. But, this was the first time I was able to see one
swimming. The photos I took of the Cormorant landing on the water are
almost comical with those huge webbed feet spread out! It will be a while
before I post new photos to my website but I'll let everyone know when I do.
