We have just returned from a few days in Lutsen.
Chipping sparrows and song sparrows were quite active in the yard. One
white-crowned,
      but no white-throated yet.
The eagle nest near county road 7 and the lakeshore was active--I think
there was a young
      one visible.
24 long-tailed ducks were around all weekend; are these non-breeders, or
are they
also slow in their migration ?
Two male hummingbirds arrived on Saturday. They could not have been
happy with
the 34 degree temp this morning!
Today, there was a very vocal blackburnian warbler feeding in the birch
trees; what a
      beauty!
As we drove down 61, 10 pelicans flew over just north of Silver
Bay.(Cook County
or Lake County there? Not sure)
