This afternoon, between 3 and 4 pm, 350+ gulls were at 27th W, west of
the WLSSD plant. Lars Benson and I saw
Great Black-backed Gull (1st winter--presumably the same bird Kim
Eckert reported earlier)
Iceland Gull (1st winter)
2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1st winter)
1 Thayer's Gull (1st winter)
3 Ring-billed Gulls
Some of the gulls were catching small fish; the group of gulls was
growing during the hour we were there.
There were 4 White-winged Scoters in the harbor behind the shallows.
Also, 12 Cackling Geese.
