1996Fall Two reports from Lake Winnibigoshish, possibly the same bird, 9/28 Cass PS (The Loon 69:44) and 11/10 Cass PS (The Loon 68:247).
1997Fall One bird in first-winter plumage 11/2–17 Cook (Grand Marais) KE et al. (The Loon 69:222–223) was possibly the same individual seen 11/27 Lake (Two Harbors) MT, MD.
1998Fall Reported 9/24–26 St. Louis (first-winter off Park Point) PS, AH. This individual also had been found initially on the Wisconsin side of the Superior Entry.
1999Fall Only documented report: 11/21 Cook (Grand Marais) †HT et al. (The Loon 72:59).
2000Fall Single first-winter birds discovered 10/21 Cook (Grand Marais) †DBz, †CRG et al. (The Loon 73:124–125); 10/30 and 11/2 Lake (Agate Bay, Two Harbors) †PHS, †AXH, †JWL (The Loon 73:129). All reports may refer to the same individual, but good numbers were noted elsewhere on the Great Lakes this fall, e.g., a total of 11 during the fall season at Whitefish Point on eastern L. Superior.
2001Fall Single juveniles reported 11/12 Cook (Five Mile Rock) †CRM et al. (The Loon 74:122), 11/30 St. Louis (Park Pt. in Duluth) DAG, †JWL.
2001Winter First-winter individual found feeding on road-killed deer along I-35 on 12/2 Pine (near Sandstone) †TPW (The Loon 74:58–59).
2005Winter Two accepted records, possibly involving the same 1st-winter bird: 12/4 Anoka (Cenakio Lake, Coon Rapids Dam R.P.) †GP, 12/7–24 Dakota/Hennepin (west outflow of Black Dog Lake) ph. †JPM, m.ob. The latter was also documented by †CMB, ph. DAC, †PCC, ph. †AXH, †PSV as it lingered for a record 18 days and provided the first record for a Minnesota Christmas Bird Count (Bloomington CBC).
2006Winter1 Record late by more than two weeks (26 December 1994, The Loon 67:110) was a first-winter bird 1/11–12 Wabasha (Lake Pepin) †DBz, †JWH.
2009Fall1 First-cycle bird observed 10/31 St. Louis (Minnesota side of Superior Entry) †MLH, †PHS.
2010Fall1 Immature found 11/21 (third earliest date south) Lac qui Parle (Big Stone N.W.R.) ph. BJU and relocated the next day 11/22 RAE.
2011Winter1Two reports St. Louis (Canal Park) of probably the same first-cycle bird: 12/13 †JCa and 12/17 ph. †KJB. [Corrected]
2012Fall1 Two reports from St. Louis (Canal Park, Duluth): 11/10 (first-cycle) †KJB, 11/28 (ad.) ph. †JLK.

 Forty-nine records: 4 spring, 2 summer, 30 fall, and 13 winter. Recorded in five of the last ten years, most recently 2023.
