1976Fall 9-9 Mille Lacs L., Aitkin Co. (1 adult) TS; second state record. Ring-billed. Gull Late north 11-6 Crow Wing, 11-20 Hubbard, 11-24 Duluth; late south 1/26 Washington, 11-27 Dakota, 11-30 Ramsey.
1978Spring 4-10 Clay (3) GO.
1978Summer One seen 7-27 Clinton, Big Stone Co. (NMH: Common Loon 50:205).
1979Fall 8-9 Mille Lacs Lake TS. Hopefully there will be some documentation of this record.

1996Spring Reported 3/30 (earliest date on record) Fergus Falls, Otter Tail (adult) SDM (The Loon 68:177).
1997Summer One adult carefully identified on 6/11 at Vermilion L. in St. Louis Co. GOl; the only previous summer records for the state occurred in 1978 and 1989.
1997Fall One first-year bird reported 8/16 Dakota (Pine Bend landfill) DBS.
1998Spring All reports: 4/5 Pennington (Thief River Falls) PS, 5/13 Roseau (Roseau sewage lagoons) PS (The Loon 70:245–246).
1999Fall This Casual species was reported 11/6–21 Hennepin (second-winter individual on L. Calhoun) †PBu, †PS, mob (The Loon 72:119–120).
2000Spring One adult 5/13 Lyon (Sham L. near Cottonwood) †PE (The Loon 72:242).
2001Spring Documented 5/22 Wilkin (3 third-summer individuals at the Breckenridge lagoons) †KJB and 5/26 Lyon (Fairview Twp.) †RJS (The Loon 73:250–251). All were photographed.
2002Spring Documented 4/25 Clay (2 adults, Hawley Twp.) †KJB (The Loon 74:239–240), 5/3 Isanti (fourth-year bird, Athens Twp.) †KJB (The Loon 74:239–240).

2014Winter1 First-cycle individual reported St. Louis (Duluth, Superior Entry) 10/19–22 (see Fall 2014 report) reappeared almost 2 months later (12/21–22, record late) at Canal Park, Duluth ph. KJB, ph. JLK, ph. TRK, DTr. This is the latest date on record for the state. Photos confirmed (KJB) that it was the same individual present in October.

2020Winter1 One report: 1/10 St. Louis (second-cycle, Duluth Harbor) †REn, RLF. This is the sixth winter season record (all but one have been from Duluth), and the only winter record after December. An adult was reported 12/20 St. Louis (Duluth Harbor); this record has not yet been reviewed by MOURC.
2021Summer1 Found 6/24 Lake of the Woods (3rd-cycle, fields west of Rocky Point Rd.) †PHS.
