1930SummerTwo nests of the Downy Woodpecker were found, both containing young; the first by Ralph Woolsey, near Shakopee, on June 15th; the other by Alden Risser, at Frontenac June 21st.,
1931SummerA nest found ·by Stanley Stein on May.3rd vas not investigated. Another nest contained young on June 1oth (Ralph vloolsey) • \
1932SummerRnlph Eisele & Walter Dowey spare us the disgrace of ooitting this ccr.mon bird fron tho list by their record of a nest full of young birds fuund on June 3rd.
1933Summer Seven nests of the Dowy were reported, most o:f 'Which were uninvestigated or inaccessible. Hiemenz lists a compl1eted but empty nest at st. Cloud on March 26th. He also found a nest on :tv'"..a.y 16th in which the female was incubating, but did not determine the contents. On June 24th Swedenborg found a neat with largo young near tho Brul,o River, Cooks County, and the follouing day Hie:me11Z discovered a nest at St. Cloud which also held largo young.. · '
1934Summer No early records of occupied nests of this species were reported, but on April 30th a bird was seen excavating in a half-finished nest ncar st. Cloud (Hiemenz). A nest with young was found Juno 17th at Linwood by members of tho bird club party (see list under HAIRY WOODPECKER). Rysgaard found a nest with young on Isle Royale near Lake Ritche, July 9th.
1935Summer Prosser looked on as an industrious and early little Downy began pecking out a nest hold April 15th. Rysg:::tnrd reports a nest for April 29th, and Upson watched adults feed Qlo.morous young in the nest June 22nd, Prosser and Swodneborg saw young out of the nest at Linwood Lake en July 6th~
1936Summer A nest of small younb was found by E. D. SvTeclenborc; June 13th. An adult feeding three fledglings near a nesting hole was seen by Robert Upson on June 24th. Three young just out of the nest were seen by Kenneth Carlander at Hackensack on July 16th.
1937SummerMay 9, an adult entered a fresh hole. Fort Snel­ling (Upson).
1940SummerYoung almost able to fly were found in a nest on June I8, at St. Cloud by the members of the T. S. Roberts Club. C. Hero saw a young and an adult bird together on July I7 at Duluth.

(JH); an unconfirmed report of 5 along with 1 Northern Three-toed in late December from the Sax-Zim area of St. Louis Co. was not substantiated by others birding the area.
