1961Springseldom seen in Minnesota, although it may breed here, was seen by Avifaunal Club members on 18 March near Sebeka, Wadena County. Another was seen by William Pieper on 19 May near Clarksfield, Yellow Medicine County.
1961SummerLowry Elliott saw "a large rough-leg hawk" that must have been this species on 20 August near Salt Lake but in South Dakota.
1962FallNov. 5, Mud Lake, 1 immature seen on ground and flying, studied carefully at 100 yards through 20X scope, R. Grant.

1993Summer Most summer reports in 14+ years. Single immatures were reported at three locations: 6/5 Wilkin KB, 6/15 Traverse BF, 6/16 Clay BF. This species nested in North Dakota near Grand Rapids, within 13 miles of the Minnesota border!
