1961WinterA second year bird was seen by R. Huber on December 30 in Lake Superior on the Lake-St. Louis County line. Five observations of adults and second year birds during January along the north shore of Lake Superior by Jan Green and Avifaunal Club members.

At least four individuals were present in the Twin Cities with a peak of two adults, one immature at Lakes Calhoun and Harriet, Hennepin County 12/8–18 KB, SC et al. One adult and one immature present at Black Dog Lake, Dakota County until 12/22 KB.

At least one adult and three immatures reported from Twin Cities in Anoka, Hennepin and Dakota with the last on 1/4 Dakota KB. Also one imm. reported at Lake City, 12/8–9 Wabasha KB, RG.

1994Winter Only Lake Superior reports were on the Duluth CBC (3), 2/7 St. Louis KB when five seen flying by Stoney Point, and January in Cook KMH (number unknown). In the Twin Cities, reported until 12/9 at Lake Calhoun and Harriet, Hennepin Co. mob, and until 1/1 at Black Dog Lake, Dakota Co. mob, with a peak of three at Black Dog Lake on 12/31 BF.
1995Spring All reports: 3/21 Dakota KB, 4/5 Anoka DB, 4/14 St. Louis TW.
1995Fall Early north 10/28 Cook KE. Early south 11/8 Hennepin PBu, 11/9 and 11/15 Dakota (second-winter) KB. These are the earliest south dates on record. Unusual reports 11/23–24 White Bear Lake, Ramsey and Washington County (first-winter) KB, BL, 11/26 Lake City, Wabasha County KB.
1995Winter Reported as usual in Twin Cities area with a peak of three on 12/2 Dakota mob and last seen 12/12 Ramsey KB. Also reported along the Mississippi River in southeast region on 12/2 Goodhue DZ and 12/4 Winona CS. Peak of ten on Lake Superior, St. Louis Co. KE.
1996Spring All reports: 3/29–4/16 Dakota mob, 4/2 Anoka KB, 4/14 Hennepin mob (all may have been the same immature bird); 4/6–4/9 Koochiching (max. 2 immatures) PS, KB, 4/20 St. Louis TW, 4/21 Grant (adult) SDM.
1996Fall All reports: 11/2 (earliest south date) Dakota (immature) TT, 11/10 Hennepin PBu, 11/10 Lake mob, 11/11 Cook mob.
1996Winter Up to eight seen 12/7 Superior entry, Duluth, St. Louis Co. KB, PS, but as usual, most gulls attempted wintering on the Superior side of the harbor. Two individuals reported 12/1 Grand Marais, Cook Co. PS, and two additional immatures noted in Dakota and Ramsey where last seen 12/19 Ramsey KB.

1997Winter Present on the North Shore where up to eleven noted 12/13 St. Louis (Duluth) KB. Up to four present in the Twin Cities region 1/1 Dakota (Black Dog Lake) KB, with record late birds noted 1/17 Washington BL and 1/24 Dakota PJ. Record early south migrants noted in Washington on 2/26 (first-winter) and 2/27 (two adults) KB. Previous early south date 3/12 (The Loon 68:30).

1999Spring Fewer reports than usual. Only south report 3/26 Goodhue KB. Peak count 4/8 St. Louis (14 at the Superior Entry) KB. Late north 4/28 St. Louis FN.
1999Fall Early north 10/27 Cook DF, then 10/30+ (Grand Marais) mob. Only south report 10/29 Hennepin (imm. on L. Harriet) †PBu. This is the first October record for the southern half of the state.
1999Winter Scattered reports throughout the season from Lake Superior in Cook, Lake, and St. Louis. At least six reported from Twin Cities in Hennepin and Dakota; peak 12/17 Dakota (4 at Black Dog Lake) KB and latest 12/21 Dakota KB. Unusual was the report 1/9 Dakota AH
2000Spring Only report: 3/19 St. Louis (4) PS.
2000Fall Only reported from L. Superior and the Twin Cities. Early north 10/15 Lake JWL, followed by three more reports 10/23–24. First south report was a first-winter individual on L.
