1932SummerWoolsey reports the only nest of this species. He fo~uod it on June 5th near Frazee, ru1d it contained .3 young about 3 weeks old and 1 addled ecg.
1933Summer Tilfee nests of Wilson's Owl wer.e reported. T.hc first was found by Stein on April 2nd. It was located in the 1~p.marack swamp on Highway #5 near Minneapolis and contained.3 eggs. It was des erted. Tho second nest was found by Swedenborg on April 2oth, being located in the Normandale tamarack swamp near Minneapolis. On that date it held one egg. 1/0n the 25th of April it held.3 eggs, on the 1.3th of May, 5 eggs, on the May :27th it hold,four young and one unhatched egg. The largest young one at that time was at least four times as large as the smallc3fJt." Eisele and Do1m.oy report a nest of this species ncar Minneapolis on April .3oth containing 5 eggs.
1934Summer The only nest of the Long-oared Owl reported was found by Dick Jung nee.r Princeton, Mille Lacs County, on April 21st. Reposing in it were four fresh eggs.
1936Summer Robert Upson takes the first prize again for finding the early nest. He found a nest cf six eggs on April 26th. ·Dr. Breck• enridgo saw five newly hatched young in Ramsey County on May 19th. A nest with two large young was discovered by E. D. Swedonborg on May 17th.
1938SummerA. B. Madden of Upsala found, on April 12, a set of 5 eggs in an abandoned Craw's nest. On April 25 the nes~ held 5 young and one egg.

1994Winter Record number of reports (The Loon 67:114–115). Approximately 49 individuals reported from 15 counties (only four of which were on CBCs), with peak counts of 16 seen on 1/10 Dakota AH, and eight birds seen in one willow tree 12/27 Hennepin DN. During the past ten years, there has been an average of less than three reports each winter, and usually only single birds are seen, so these reports are truly extraordinary. Nearly all reports were south with the only north reports on the Fargo/Moorhead CBC and 1/25 Cook KMH.
1995Spring More reports than usual; reported from Anoka, Blue Earth, Chisago, Cottonwood, Dakota, Hennepin, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Nobles, Rice and Rock counties south; Aitkin, Becker, Kanabec and Lake counties north.
1995Summer Only record: nested in Aitkin (The Loon 67:161–163).
1995Fall All reports: 11/6 Dakota SD, 11/20 Clearwater MN, 11/29 Redwood RJ.

1999Spring Many reports again this spring. A winter roost in the Wilkie Unit of the Minnesota River Valley NWR held up to ten owls in early March (DF). Additional peak count 5/12 Winona (4) AH, PS. Also reported from Lac qui Parle, Rice (2), McLeod, Anoka, Goodhue, Roseau, St. Louis.
1999Summer Only reports: nesting evidence in Marshall, Aitkin.

2000Spring All south reports were in March or early April. Observed in Sibley (2), Rice, Olmsted (2), Hennepin (3). All north reports: 5/18 Mahnomen (Waubun marsh) WM, Marshall (nesting pair near ANWR and roosting at Old Mill S. P.) fide BBe, 3/15–4/30 Kanabec (2) CM, 3/29 Lake JLi, and St. Louis mob.
2000Summer More reports than usual; observed in Kittson, Marshall, Aitkin, Lake. Unusual ground-nesting documented in Aitkin (The Loon 72:244–245).
2000Fall Reported only from Marshall and St. Louis in the north. Total of 14 banded at HRNR during the season (DLE et al.). Six south reports beginning 11/4 Lyon mob and Meeker DMF. Others were in Carver, Hennepin, Ramsey, Rice.
2000Winter Single birds seen in seven counties: 12/1 Wabasha (Millville) NFT, 12/16 Excelsior CBC, 12/17 Cottonwood CBC, 12/23 Scott (Blue Lake) AXH, 12/26–27 Rice TFB, 1/31 Roseau JFo, GMe, 2/23 Fillmore NBO.
