1930SummerCharles Evans found the earliest nest on May 1Oth, one with two sparrow's eggs and a Brown-headed Cowbird's, Two nests were found on May 16th, one by Marius Morse at Robbinsdale, with five eggs of the owner and a Brown-headed Cowbird's; and the other by Alden Risser at st. Paul, contents, four eggs, The latest nest was at Shakopee on July 29th and held a single young bird. Several other nests were found, among thel':l one by Gustav Swanson at Frontenac on May 13th, four eggs; one by the same observer at Deer River on June 14th, five eggs; one by the writer near Onan:in on May 24th, five eggs, and another by the writer at Minneapolis on May 26th with four &Jall young, A rather unusual nest was found near Northome on June 24th, It was situated in a cut along a road about six inches from the top in a oa.vi ty evidently left by a fallen rock, Only a. few grasses and rootlets constituted the nest which held five young, -.3.3 -The Flicker, 19.30
1931SummerThe earliest nest reported was found by Stanley Stein on May 4th, t.rhen it contained one egg. The last nest contained one egg on June 24th (D. Fischer).
1932Summer15 Song Sparrow's nests ware found, One with 3 eggs was seen on the first day of Mqy, by Leander Fischer and Stanley Stein. It seems odd that out of 15 nests of this bird which generally raises so many broods, the last nest was seen on June 16. Hrs. Wilson found it at Montevideo, and it ccntained 5 eggs.
1933Summer Twenty nests of this familiar friend were reported. The first wo.s found by Risser at White Bear, ncur St. Paul, on April 3oth, and conto.ined 1 egg. Not satisfied with this, he reported the last, which he found at Sturgeon Lcko on June 26th. The interior wns occupied by 1 egg of tho ower o.nd 2 of tho Brown-headed Cowbird, o.nd tho observer no.rratos concerning it thusly; "This nest was five and a half feet up in a Norwny ?.L,e, and was so bulky that I first thought it wa.s o. thro.short s nest. The inside dio:metor was 2 3/4ths inches and the outside diameter (exclusive of loose grasses) was 7 inches.11
1934Summer HictJ.onz gets the honors for finding the earliest nnd latest nost of this, the last species en our list. On Hay 11th at st. Cloud he found 2 nests, with 2 eggs, and 3 eggs and 1 C01·rbird1s egg respectively. These lnst two nests, ns well as 3 others found by Hanson and Hiemenz on July 20th, were in bushes, one of them beinG in vines 6 foot fran the ero,md. A nest found by Dr• Prosser and Mr. and l1rs. Swedenborg on June 21st was interesting because of the great difference in marking of its two eggs. One was so heavily spotted and blotched th~t the greonj_sh background was nearly concealed, while the other was vory lightly mn.rkod.
1935Summer Swaneon saw 4 eggs in Anoka County May 1Sth. Four eggs May 24th .and 5 young May 31st, make up Breckenridge's data on this species• .And at Lindstrom, Swanson saw 4 young Hay 29th. On May 25th, Turner came across 3 eggs and 3 Qcwbird eggs in a nest at Frontenac. The next day, Mahle found 4 eggs and 1 Cowb5.rd egg at :Frontenac. And Thompson tells of seeing 3 eggs June 30th at :. ~.._ 'Warren.
1936Summer A great many nests of this species were found and reported. A nest of four eggs found by Ken Carlander at Bloomington Ferry on May 12th. Carlander found a second nest on May 20th at Hackensack; :' it held four eggs. Many nests of eggs and young were reported for the month of June~, The latest nest was located by Swedenborg on July 19th and held four eggs.
1937SummerMorse found a nest of four newly hatched young in the Cloquet Valley Forest on August 1 I.
1940SummerMany nests were observed, the earliest by C. Hero on June 4, at Duluth. It held 5 eggs. The latest nest was reported by Sister Gervase, Col­lege of St. Scholastica, Duluth-4 young in a nest bn July I5. Minnesota Museum of Natural History, Uni-versity of Minn..·

Presumed early north migrants (median 3/23) 3/27 Grant JPr, Pine (2 locations) SBE, ebd, then also in Cass, Clay, Wilkin on 3/8.
